Pastoral (2004) was an improvised music performance staged in conjunction with the exhibit, Old World. Mid 20th Century nostalgic audio recordings of American folk, traditional, bluegrass, and Dixieland songs were sampled with the use of turntables, electronic musical instruments, and vocals, taking the blandly familiar nature of the recordings and reinvesting it with the unexpected, unnerving or sublime qualities of the original songs.
